My pals Funeral Suits have just released a great new video for the Nat Walker remix of their song ‘All Those Friendly People’. Made by Shaun Ryan (the director of the original video), it shows a blossoming romance between a young couple in Dublin.
Make sure to keep your eyes peeled for two little paper dolls that show up for a couple of seconds in the video. They’re a nod to the characters from the track’s original video. I illustrated them and they’re included as a free little extra with the band’s latest EP.
Funeral Suits have a new EP out at the moment featuring remixes of ‘All Those Friendly People’ by The Japanese Popstars and Nat Walker of Chromatics. I created the artwork above. You can download it through Model Citizen (the download also includes a little illustrated treat inspired by the bands videos for ‘All Those Friendly People’ and ‘Hands Down’). Go check it out!
I recently did some small illustrations for Countlan; a quarterly magazine dedicated to exploring how people all over the world entertain at home. The illustrations are for an article by Carla Isidoro about Portugal’s Bordallo-Pinheiro pottery. You can read the full issue here or see more illustrations on their blog.
I recently visited Thinking in Circles, an exhibition of work by the artist Gabriel Orozco at Edinburgh’s Fruit Market Gallery. I really loved his photography work. Ball on Water (1994) is particularly great. If you’re in Edinburgh, the show runs until the 18th of October.
I love Peter Liversidge’s Flags for Edinburgh project. Part of Edinburgh Art Festival, these simple flags can be found throughout the city, offering a cheery welcome to all of Edinburgh’s new visitors during the festival month.
